Welcome to Koovathon 1.0, the first phase of an exciting three-part series dedicated to transforming the Cooum River into the Thames of Chennai. Koovathon 1.0 is an Ideathon that invites individuals to explore and ideate tangible solutions for improving the Cooum River.
It is a one-day Ideathon where participants, forming teams of up to 4 people (On-spot), will brainstorm and present innovative ideas to improve the Cooum River. The focus areas include Water Transportation, Tourism, Economy, Aquatic Ecosystem, Waste Management, Sustainability, and and other relevant themes.

FAQ
Koovathon is a three-phase initiative dedicated to the transformation of the Cooum River, starting with Koovathon 1.0 (Ideathon), followed by Koovathon 2.0 (Hackathon) and Koovathon 3.0 (Policy Making).
Koovathon 1.0 is an Ideathon. It’s a Full Day event.
Once Registered, you are requested to attend the event. On the day of the event, we will form the team & Themes and the problem statement will be given on Spot. As a Team, you have to come up with the best idea around Cooum River. Then, you have to present your ideas to the jury, The Best idea will get the Cash Prize of 10,000 INR.
Everyone requested to register as an Individual. We will form the Team on the event date.

Koovathon 2.0 is a 2 Days Hackathon. Most Possibly, it will be organized by End of May Month.
Koovathon 3.0 is a policy making. Most Possibly, it will be organized by End of August month.
You are encouraged to register as an individual. Teams will be formed on the event day, providing an opportunity for participants to collaborate and share diverse perspectives.
Yes, participants are required to bring their own laptops to conduct research and create their presentations during the event
How it works?
We invite passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds, including tech professionals, school/college students, environmentalists, scientists, researchers, and political icons/government representatives, to join Koovathon 1.0 and contribute to the transformation of the Cooum River.

Selected 15 Teams will move to this round and pitch their ideas to the jury during the allocated time slots (5 Minutes).
4 PM - Winner Announcement & Vote of Thanks
The best idea, as validated by the jury, will be announced at 4 PM, followed by a vote of thanks.
